Well hello again. I would like you to have a look at Gomer in my diary....or at least it should soon be in my diary soon. He is a funny looking little guy. He is supposed to be a 751 Van...but he is a mottled colour and has only one big leaf and a little curled up one at his leaf base. Wonder what he will turn out like? Anyone seen a pumpkin like this before?

I think your plant will be fine... To me it looks like for one reason or another, only one side of the seed developed, the other partially (not very much) developed. I would think of cots on pumpkin plants- like kidneys in humans... 2 are great and desirable, but you really only need one. In fact once your plant gets going it won't miss that one little leaf at all.

One of my plants had only one cot leaf last year. The single cot leaf grew about twice the size. I guess it was making up for the other leaf.....Tom

Thanks so much for the info. Poor little Gomer...actually I am getting quite attached to the little guy. LOL His one leaf is also mottled.

One of the seeds i started for my friends came up like that, the plant just wanted to grow so fast that one leaf got stuck in the seed and got ripped off, thats what it looks like, i can see the leaf that should be attached but isn't. It should be fine.

I posted a new pic of Gomer in my diary. It is still a fully looking little plant...and is much smaller than the others the same age
