Mikkal sent me the 712 Kuhn.
The seed is doind great.
I really want to be sure whether it is fake or not. That's really important for pollination etc.
So Mikkal, if ti is fake, just tell me.
If not, I'm going to make crosses with the ' 712 ' and that's very stupid with the wrong seed !!!
Just tell me the truth, please !

My seed wasn't in such a bag ------------> IS IT FAKE OR NOT ??????
My seed was just in an enveloppe with the name of the seed and the cross.
Damned, it's killing me, this is my best seed so I would like to you it a few time as pollinator !! I can only do that when I'm sure !!

I sent him a true 712 I promise. But if you will not beleive me then I can never earn trust back. Just for you to know we did not trade anything I just did not want to grow the seed so I sent it to him when he asked me if he could have it.

It is a true 712 Kuhn.

The biggest problem is : when I make a cross with the 712 and my 1025 bobier ( for example ), no-one would like to have it, because they all think it is fake !!!
Mikkal, I was very happy with that seed ! That's the best seed I have @ the moment, don't screw it up for me !
This was my first " worldseed " so it should be very regrettable to hear that you're still busy with the old tricks !
You said you recieved it from Jim Juhn himself, can you proove that ???

I recieved a fake 712 last year that Mikkal admitted was fake. Then this winter out of no where comes another 712 form Mikkal, no message. I threw the seed out after comparing it to a real 712. Looked a little to dark to me the shape was a good match. Just how many 712s are there ????

i don't know how someone could actually send a fake a first
time. if someone has an extra real 712 i would send it to
Brussels speedy delivery to put a mind at ease. a mighty
generous offer it would be, but hard to part with. if not a
712 then another proven winner so the kid doesn't frown
the whole season through. i would be pissed.
the pumpkin gods might bless a nobel pumpkineer for such a kind deed. then again maybe not. silly pumpkin gods.

its either that or mr. kuhn can lay this to rest with
documentation.

if i grew a 712 i would call the pumpkin "wolfie" like
eddie munster's doll. what are the odds it would be 1313 lbs?

Whether it was a real 712 or not, Mikkal might have thought it was real. He can't be blamed for that. If he asked nothing in return, there is not real harm done, except that crosses made might not be right. So, maybe the grower who recieved the seed should grow it, and self it. Just a thought.

Ok last year when i sent fake seeds to five people i kept the 712 the whole time I did not send it to anybody.

I can not prove it except for the fact that Jim sent me one and I sent it to supergrower this year not in trade but just giving it to him. All I asked in return was seeds out of the pumpkin it grows this year.

I alsohave one other thing to say I would never want to lose the trust of my parents and my fellow pumpkin growers again!! Last year when I did what I did it was very hard to earn my parents trust back which I have done and now I am tryingto earn you guys trust back and when I try to do something to prove I have changed you start saying I started doing what Idid last year all over again.

All I am asking is that you guys give me a chance. The seed I sent supergrower was a true 712 the reason it was in a differant envelope was I used the other envelope to send a fake seed to someone last year.

Please just give me a chance,Tom Beachy did and he was very happy if you dont trust me on that e-mail him and ask him.

This is really none of my business but I feel compelled to share something with you. I am not for or against your presence here. I am indifferent to the matter because except for an air of sceptical mistrust of strangers by some of the members of this very small community of people, your actions have never affected me.

Trust is earned through deeds. Not words. This may come as a shock to you, but there are some folks who will never trust you again regardless of the words you place in print. There is nothing wrong with this. Human beings have become the preeminent species on Earth because, among other things, we are intelligent enough to avoid danger that is impressed upon the brain by what we call fear. It is perfectly natural.

The fact that your parents have forgiven you has absolutely nothing to do with people here trusting you. It is perfectly natural for your parents to forgive & maybe even trust you. But to expect veritable strangers to do the same thing is rather presumptuous. Even those who are big enough to forgive you may never trust you. This is perfectly normal too.

You have learned a valuable life lesson here. If your pumpkin growing goes well despite your hard earned handicap, then take solace in the fact that you'll grow up to be a better man for it later. But take your time. And do yourself & everyone else here a favor. Do not expect the good people here to suddenly open their arms in an out pouring of welcome. You have to be fair to the moral standards that good & willing men of honor place upon not you, but themselves first.

The 712 they are referring to is the 712 Kuhn seed which has grown several 1000 pounders.

I hear ya Brent, but I just can't see giving up on even the most difficult ones. I've seen a lot of bad boys make complete turn-arounds with the proper guidance. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!! LOL!! I hope Mikkals parents and community feel the same way.

Hey junior, can we PLEASE let this thread die. I met Mikkal on sunday, he seems like a great kid. Oh my....did i say KID. yes ladies and gentlemen he is 13 years old. do any of you remember what it was like to be 13? probably not. i do, i was nothing but trouble myself. now, what he did was wrong. but that is in the past. when i talked to him he acted like he felt terrible. either i'm just blind and dumb, but he didn't seem to me like some harden criminal like you all make him out to be. let the thread die and move on with your lives. he is a good kid, out.
