I want to do a diary, but I can't. I use everything on the site fine except this. It says, "only images in the 'jpg' file format can be uploaded". I'm terrible with computers, someone please help me on this one. Thanks, Jim

i'm no expert and the fact that you are trying to start a diary puts you wayyy ahead of me!, for i INTEND to as well.
i'm sure you will get a lot of responses soon, i'm just the first one...you may need to click on start, programs, and
check on your computer to see if you have any photo-editing programs in there...if you right-click on the icon that otherwise opens-up the picture to begin with, you will get
a long list of items, usually ending in 'properties'.
left click on that item and you will see what the image is in what format--also, most of the time the image icon will say right in the icon title what the image format is---
.jpeg, .tif, .bmp, etcetera. from there you need to find out if your photo-editing programs will allow you to change the format of the picture in question to .jpeg
for instance, the software that came with my Wal-Mart
pictures of my pumpkins from '02 on CD had the Microsoft
Picture-It Express program right on the disc along with the images....and it allows you to transform the image from just about anything to just about anything else!

check out Microsoft Corporation on MSN---they might even have a downloadable 'p i e' program for just this purpose!
and, you can always get a roll of film developed and put on a CD and this program is on the CD also---i didn't want it at first, but you can do ALL kinds of stuff with it---
now i'm advertising it nationwide!
good luck, and we look forward at the computer screen to
seeing any of your posts!!! 'pal

I can't even write words let alone pic's. Tried your explanation, but had no "properties", still confused.

Duster:

What you want to get is a photo editing program, like paint shop pro... or if you want a FREE easy to use program you can get "Photo Wizard 1.1"

You can import pictures from digital cameras, scanners, and other digital sources or from your hard drive. It lets you manipulate your photos in a variety of ways. You can retouch your photos, or add special effects. You can crop and size your pictures to get them just right. You can enhance the colors, the brightness, remove "red eye", and more. You can even add a customizable frame and save them to any format including .jpeg...

go to this link to download the program and just click install once downloaded.

I figured out what was wrong, atleast with not being able to submit anything. I was putting a "title" in the place that I think is for images of pics, ooops:) I tested it without putting anything in the box and it worked. Now, for pic's that might be harder to do. Thanks, Jim
