I grow 20 or so casper plants, and I usualy do not start them untill first or second week in may, then transplent outside following May15 or whenever it looks like danger of frost has passed. If you keep them in a greenhouse in large pots, you can maintain the plant health and transplant out when the weather clears up. The plant will not overmature, and will continue producing more fruit, so with an early start and good fungicide program you can increase your yeilds (terms of per plant) with an early start. Just takes a little more effort.
Best of luck
