I think the direction of message board threads may be harder to predict than the stock market. A thread may begin discussing the genetics of the 846 Calai and end up with the anti-globalization movement on the west coast. Of course going backwards through the thread it is usually very easy to connect the dots between the two topics but to predict the demise of a new, virgin, unsoiled thread is just about impossible.
My recent thread about our forgotten hero, John D. (and that D is not for Dave), is now a discussion on the genetics of the 953 Langevin. Had I not mentioned the possible inclusion of John in the next Langevin book who knows what direction that thread may have taken. Perhaps it would've stayed on topic.....one can only wonder.

Sometimes for comic relief I read the first and last message of a thread just to see what's left of the original topic. My fault your last one went astray. I apologize.

How much wine did John get from the 953? Is the recipe going to be in the new book?

No problem Scott...I was just using that as an example because it was recent. It happens all the time and is just interesting to me.

Brent,
You ended up as a heavy hitter after growing the 953 Langevin last year and crossed it with the 846 Calai? Wow, that's pretty cool.... :)

Recipe, how large of a pumpkin do you need to make a pumpkin pie large enough for 41.379 people to each have 2.6 pieces?

It's complicated, but we think Gordon had a hand in fabricating Brent, who seems to think there is a John, who he and Gordon together continue to distract us with references to Dave, who now has been replaced by Kevin.
If my name were Ken, I would be very VERY afraid right now... Which fortunatley it happens to be Steve, so I'm safe.

Where in the hell is Steve when we need numbers piled up and made reasonably understandable? Whats two point six pieces anyway. Pumpkin pie is only served in quarters or halves with a tenth of a leddel vanilla ice cream A leddel bit is more than a half pint and less than a pint. Considering makers suggestions favor the heavy dip for modest coverage of a quarter pie. That should yield pleasing results if the pie is served at 90.4 degrees. If the pie is hotter than 90.4 degrees you may have thermal shock to the quality of the pie caused by the ice cream.:)

A piece to me is a 8th of a 10 inch diameter pie. But obviously the pie would have to be bigger than that to serve 41.379 people if each person was to eat 2.6 pieces. So the volume of a pie that has a 10 inch diameter and lets say a 2 inch depth is aproximatly 628 cubic inches. Divide that by 8, so we get each piece would have a volume of 78.5 cubic inches. Multiply that by 2.6, so we get each person consumes 204.1 cubic inches of pie. We have 41.379 people so we need approximately 8,445.4539 cubic inches of pie. So we divide that by 2, then find the square root of that and get that the pie has a diameter of approximately 64.98251265 inches, or we need approximately 13.448175 10" diameter pies. Now what I want to know is how much pumpkin is need for a pie/pie's of that size?

HMMmm...Not necessarily Deep baked sicilian Pizza...or sicilian Pizza pie as we know it is baked in a square or rectangula shaped pan and served in squares....ergo a slice of pizza from this dish is served in rectangular portions... We'll have to check with Jeff352 who I think changed his name to Dave or John not sure...couldn't follow the above as to who's who

Dave sent me an email in which he told me that Jeff knows that injecting milk into pumpkin vines is good for them. John also knows that grease spots on pumpkins last longer if you rub them gently with a small piece of butter. But there was a virus coming along with that email from Dave so I didn´t open it.

So if I have all this straight the genetics of the 846 Calai was figured out to make a pizza pumpkin pie that will serve 41.379 people. Apparently it contained a virus and the people all had to receive I-V of pumpkin milk. Who did bake the pie?

Speaking of pie and multithreads I just checked an old hierarchy tree handout that came with a 1061Zehr seed in the winter of 1997 and it lists the 755Craven as 827 x 827.

Today I cut off the roots from my seedlings. I don´t believe they are of any use for a plant that has so many leaves. This is a unique method but I don´t want to encourage anyone to do this before I have results. If it will fail I won´t have pie in October. It makes me very sad thinking about.
