Got about 900-1000 square feet. basically square shaped. Need ideas on best patterns for growing two plants.

With that much room, I would go with the flag method since that one lays flat. I only had 250 square feet last year and while getting all the main, secondaries etc in the air and propped-up for the christmas tree model wasn't TOO big a pain, supporting my 300 pound pumpkin 10 feet off the ground was a real test in high school physics.

AndyMan- I drew up a little sketch that show how I'd do it. I'll email it directly to you. That's easier than trying to write it out. Also I'll submit it to BP and then post the link to it, in case anyone else cares to look. Gordon

Andy, I prefer the x-mas tree shape my self. You have enough space for 2 that style. Steve

I would sugjest the christmas tree pattern with both plants planted in the center of your patch back to back. So both would run in opposite directions. Makes it easier to water also.

Jay, In a 30'x30' patch that leaves <15' for main vine length. Is this long enough?

hey i'm not sure how this would look, no paper handy, but you could do the Chistmas tree X 2 by starting them in the center of the patch, but pointing the mains at one CORNER each---i don't think 15' is long enough for the main vine. i don't know what the plant thinks, but if you must plant 2 plants, try either what i just mentioned, or plant them each in their own half of the patch--that'll allow each of them 15 feet wide by 30 feet long, being sure to bury the vines as much as possible--my nickel's worth....'pal
