In the shade - PDX, OR

I was lucky enough to till my patch yesterday.
The first time I have had the opportunity to do this since last spring.
Things were still quite wet - then we got some more rain today...

This is just a general appeal to Mother Nature for some sunny spring (warm) weather so that things dry out and we all can get some work done in the patch.

Cheers & Ya'll grow 'em Big.
Ceis

BTW - Georgia Boys how are things comin' down there?

Ceis,
Amen to that "anti rain dance"! The rain is getting very discouraging. I cannot even plow my patch, not to mention rototilling! The forecast is for rain every day for the next eight days!!
We had 6" of rain in March...twice that of normal! We are already ahead of normal in April!
The fellows in New England are just clearing the snow from their patches!

This weather stinks cold and rainy I cant do any thing in the gardens I need to lower the ph in to of my plots. I think there will be a lot of people starting late this year but maybe we will get a lot of sunny weather to make up for it.

jeez, i just though of tellin' ahab to use his pump for the pumpkins to reduce the swamp on either side of his patch---
i could always get one of my pumps out and practice what i preach! i love when i solve a problem of my own by trying to solve someone else's! regardless, everything's soggy here as well....

It Absolutely POURED down rain here last night.
Now I have standing water on top of my standing water.
About and inch on my gravel walking paths. Impenetrable clay.

Finally got a rain barrel yesterday & didn't have a chance to modify a down spout from one of my gutters.
Regardless, it filled up about a third of the way.

Should get some black plastic sheets and put them over my planting areas to dry things out.

It rained about 2 in yesterday and last night. The pond is higher than it has been since the floods of 86. We could see the water standing in the next pasture over. we did not see it like this all winter. More rain expected this week. i used this time to plant seeds to germinate in the sun room. Hopefully in about a week a half it will dry up in the garden sso I can disc.
