PumpkinBoy, Red1, Mikkal, etc. Now he is JimmyJoe and he is looking to trade some seeds. If you don't know this guys history just do a search on "mikkal" and you'll get the jist of it. We need this guy around here like we need a flaming case of crotch rot. If you trade with him there is no way I will trade with you because anything you get from him may or may not be what he claims and you'll end up passing along phony seeds without even knowing it.
This guys very existence is why I packaged my seeds like I did. Not that I think my seeds will be highly valued or oft traded but at least it would be difficult to counterfeit it.

Ok, I know I have done wrong and I deserve anything you guys say about me. I am truly sorry about what I did I was stupid, ireasponsible and selfish. I do not want to trade with anybody. If I want a seed I will try to get it from the person who grew it, not in a trade. Again I am very sorry about what I did last year.
If you guys want to know I traded with Tom Beachy I sent him the true seed and he can verify it.
I am truly sorry about my actions last year.
Thanks, Mikkal

It is sad, that we will have to be very skeptical of any new "alias" member to enter this site from Indiana.(Unless he moves, then we'll have to be skeptical about ANY new member!) Supposedly, he is no longer deceiving people with his seeds trades, only by whatever alias he chooses to go by. If his dignity doesn't, than his past record should keep him off of this site. And for you bleeding hearts, he's had several chances!

I have never met this person before, but I do need to say something. I truly believe that it is ok to be upset over these untruthful actions, but it is wrong, very wrong to tell someone that they can't change. I am a big believer in the Big Guy up stairs and He has changed many of men's hearts. A leopard is a far cry from a child of God. If all we ever do is treat nice people good, we are no better than any other evil person in the world. If you want to banish him from this site, fine, but don't tell him he is a worthless person that will never change. Jim

Even God doesn't give an infinite number of second chances....
Romans 1:28 - And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
I'm not saying this fella we are referring to is worthless (though he very well may be) but there is such a think as a worthless person.
The "Everyone is Good" versions of religon out there are not grounded in the Bible. They are happy, feel good versions made up so people that don't want to feel guilty about anything can buy into something.

svrichb, that's pretty harsh stuff. I will only post on this subject this last time. I will not make this site a Religious debate. But I will give you my answer to defend myself. One, I know the Bible very well, two, I'm not a happy feel good, can't do wrong version, three, God does forgive if the heart is truly repentant. My debate is not about consequences for wrong actions (sin), but forgiveness when someone is truly repentant. For I feel that this issue isn't about being cheated seeds, but about lack of forgiveness even with this person banished from the sight. I will leave you with a parable: "Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him one day's pay, the other fifty day's pay. Neither had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debt of both. Now which of them will love hime more? Simon replied to Jesus, "the one who had the bigger debt." You have judged correctly Jesus replied. Luke 7:41-43. He who has been forgiven little, loves little. He who has been forgiven much loves much. Jim

I don't know Mikkal but I think he is a kid not an adult. Being in my twenties I can very clearly remember how a kid / young adult thinks a little differently than an adult. I for one believe a person expecially a KID can change. Maybe Mikkal has learned his lesson and maybe not. I for one would not trade with him anytime in the near future but dont feel that he should never be given a second chance. I hope you have truly grown up Mikkal.

Well I didn't see anything funny in his first post back in seed exchange were he was willing to trade a 712 Kuhn...Even in jest it's in poor taste! and any of the newbies on the site should be well aware of Mikkal's old tricks...Hope you have changed Mikkal but only time will tell. Chuck

Jim(8),
After reading my post I can see how it came across as a jab at you but that was not my intention. I should've been more careful and I apoligize.
PumpkinBrat,
I agree that a certain amount of forgiveness is sometimes in order but this was not a case of forgiving one deception. It was a string of lies longer than the OTT on the 1230 Daletas.

There's an old saying, "Fool me once...shame on you. Fool me twice...shame on me!"
However, I am here to testify that young men can change their ways as they mature. The power of God changed my oldest son into a son I am very proud of! I believe that Mikkal, too, can change! I say that we give him another chance!

Mikkal, if you want to come on this site don't come on as an alias. It was as if that seed trade you offered a 712 and other seeds was seriuos until you got caught. That's how it appeared to me. Stay on this site, but don't do any seed trading and if you trade with others on this site I would reccomend to all beware!

Fair enough, but you have to agree that worded that way it seemed he had them. If he stated that he was getting pollen off of you it would have looked much more credible ( very much). And I do remember whats it like to be 12-13 even though I would like to forget my younger years. Oh well thats what therapy is for....LOL Thanks for clearing that up Tom.............Paul

Mikkal, you are very lucky to have a few people backing you so that you can have pollen from great plants. You should feel privileged. Because it is hard for a lot of people here to get good seeds. Impossible for some. You are also lucky because you can also get the free seeds just like everyone else. So you have the trades you need (pollen) and you have the support you need (Beachy and Walters) and you can get the seeds you need from the site and from people offering you 2002 seeds. And the seeds that you have already from before. To me that sounds like you already have a new beginning and you have been given another chance.

I don't know much of the situation, but I spoke Mikkal this morning and we had an interesting conversation, I think he really changed ! We just have to understand that everyone is looking for great seed and so is Mikkal. It isn't nice what he has done, but I hope that he will learn from his mistakes ... Mikkal wanted to show that he has changed now and he decided to send me an 712.2 Kunh... So when he sends the right seed, we'll have the 1st proove that he has changed... Stijn.

Supergrower, I have a "712" that mikkal sent me last year. You can have it if you want. I would never trade it! He did come clean after the fact and tell me it was a fake! Ken and John deleted tons of posts over this last year. Some of you guys don't even know the half of it. BEWARE!

Now here finally are a couple of points that interest me. First being what time did you speak with him Super? I'm intrigued by this young man's constant access to the internet.
Also, why are Ken and Dave deleting posts? Kind of waters the integrity of the threads when portions are deleted. This entire situation is compounded by age of the person involved; I have 4 kids so I cannot offer an opinion either way, but these kinds of threads are interesting to read once they age a bit.

Ken and Dave can do what ever they want to with the threads on their private web site. We are their invited guests, all for free. Maybe you need to read the submission guidelines ... there is a link at the bottom of every thread. I think they do a wonderful job ! and I know they are more tolerant that I would be. If you want freedom of speech go out on your front lawn, or any public place and say whatever it is you have to say.
I think Stan hit it right on... but I think Mikkal has to earn everyones trust back. I wouldn't trade with him any time soon. just my 2 cents thanks again Ken and Dave. Gordon

{sigh} good grief, everybody takes everything as an attack around here. All I was saying is when you know zero about a situation, you go to do RESEARCH, return a certain amount of results, until now I had assumed those were the complete results. Now I cannot. Freedom of speech, submission guidlines, yada yada yada. Not what I was saying.
It is a great site, I've learned a lot and met a bunch of great people. There's your heapin spoonful of chear. Still doesn't change the fact that if you are doing RESEARCH, {notice i did not say posting} you normally assume you are looking at a complete record.

So, since you refered me to the guidelines I went and looked, I must admit I had never read them. According to them, in all likelihood this thread will be deleted. This summer when Brent and I are discussing things sipping a cool one and he refers to a post he made on BP, such as he did in the begining, naturally I will go look it up. It may not be here. Makes it hard for me to be objective if I cannot find all the facts.
That's all I was saying.

Scott,
I know you didn't mean it that way but then again I know you. It's easy for what we type to be misunderstood......I'm doing it all the time:) As I recall the situation got pretty ugly last year when John had to clean it up a little. As I recall he likened it to a steaming pile left on your carpet...wouldn't you clean it up? Though we lost a little history I agree with him. The short story: Kid shows up, kid trades fake 712 Kuhns to bunches of people, people get suspicious, kid gets backed into a corner, kid starts lying so much he'd make Lucifer blush, kid get busted, kid gets booted. Not sure who got their seeds back if anyone. I say if you know who you are trading with you don't need to worry. Someone who just shows up on the site with a pocket full of great seeds and has never grown anything is probably full of it.

Absolutely Brent and your synopsis helps clarify the situation. Again, all I was saying was any sensible person will naturally try to investigate the merits of both arguments when fellow growers, or simply friends, have differences in opinion. Shame on me for not being aware posts could/would be deleted. I'm sure you have to edit for content at times and I had no beef with that, just stated my surprise to learn of it the way I did. Gordon, whom apparently only Fox Moulder knows where he lives, misreads that I'm miffed about the 1st amendment and suddenly it turns into fly tape and you can't get away from it!
I think we're all just getting anxious to start. btw, we just had about another 36 hours of rain. thnx MN.

I gotta vent now. I care! Our youth today is our future tomorrow. If we just tell all 13 year olds that start to take a wrong path that they aren't worth a crap, instead of trying to lead them down the right road, then I don't think we are worth a crap as adults! Our job is to teach these kids morales (sp) Not grind them into the dirt. I wish more would be "caught in the act" so someone who cares might try to lend him a hand. I admire Mikkal for coming back to this site to try to make up for his foolish ways. I bet he has learned a number of "lifes truths" along with growing a bigun' I've raised and am raising 4 boys for the last 25 yrs. now and I would say they turned out pretty good fellows. I did'nt give up on them because they made a few mistakes. Let's just drop it and treat Mikkal like a human being. I'm done.

Mikkal already has the seeds he needs from scamming people last year. He already has everything he needs to grow this year. So he doesn't need any more trades. I am a REALLY confused as to how he is eligible for the 840 contest because who is to say he is really growing an 840. Being in the contest I don't agree with his entry. Sorry,

Oh man..... What to say? Im not sure to be honest! Do I think Mikkal should be given a second chance? Yes! Would I trade with him or grow a seed he sent me? No! I would GIVE him seeds though. For the most part I see things as Brian Hildebrand.
Should Mikkal be allowed into the contest? I have accepted his entry form! Although I DO understand why some may be concerned or disagree with me. In the last two years I have witnessed this site and the people on it become harsh and lash out at each other. Where is the love and kindness that was overflowing two years ago? I was hoping these contests would help reunite us as the special group we REALLY are and not the Sh_t heads we are becoming! I think our group took a sharp fall shortly after the live chat was installed? Just something I noticed. When I first came to BP.com I was amazed at the kindness of almost everyone and now I understand why many don't hang around anymore. And I don't want anyone to give me the cabin fever BS! Thats a cop out, and excuse to be an AS_!
Ok enough of that crap! LOL! Mikkal is in as far as im concerned but this is not MY contest it belongs to BP.com members im just the lucky SOB who gets to head it up..LOL! I plan to make a road trip to visit Tom Beachy's patch this year and if Mikkal is close im sure he wouldn't have a problem showing me his 840 would you Mikkal? I'll keep an extra eye on him if it makes everyone feel beter? Do you feel ok with that Mikkal?
Also, as mentioned before, what are the odds of him getting a HUGE one? Well I guess if he has Tom Beachy helping him..LOL! Mike Frantz

FIRST SUGGESTION; That Kyle ? go back to his true name for this site. SECOND SUGGESTION ; Tom Beachy has told me that he is 13 or 14 and yhat he does have potential to get his act together. I have heard alot of good things about Tom so I will take his judgement call.Tom has also volunteered to take him under his wing. THIRD SUGGESTION ; DONT TRADE WITH HIM FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS. FOURTH SUGGESTION FOR KYLE; YOU SCREWED UP NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY YOU NEED TO EARN BACK THE TRUST YOU HAVE MANY YEARS TO GROW A BIG PUMPKIN WORK ON GETTING GROWERS TO TRUST YOU AGAIN YOU BE BETTER OFF IN THE LONG RUN AND YOU HAVE A LONGER RUN THAN MOST OF US HAVE LEFT. Ohhh Dr. Garrell?
I'm still waiting on your proof on how I "screwed" Mr. Stellpflug. How about proof that I intentionally "double bubbled"?(..a really bad coined phrase by the way)
If you're going to spout off and attempt to damage my character, the least you could do is provide irreputable proof of my wrongdoings and evil misdeeds. I mean, *you're* the one making accusations therefore the burden of proof lies with you, correct? Anything less is just malicious talk from a silly, disgruntled man.
Wouldn't everyone agree that would only be fair?
C'mon Dave-O! Show the proof, let's know the truth.

"Double Bubbling"? I think I know what that term is supposed to represent.
But could anyone be so nieve to think that if they intentionally sent several bubble packs with seed requests to the same grower (to get "double" seed!)...that the grower wouldn't catch on very quickly? I mean, it would be obvious right? And the person who would intentionally do such a thing would probably be less educated and articulate about the ways of the AG community, right?
Someone would have to be really stupid, and with no common sense at all, to try and pull that one off huh?

I think it is possible for an honest person to accadentally (sp) "Double Bubble". I did it! LOL! Not on purpose either and the grower DID catch it....ROFLOL. Bad recordkeeping on my part. I felt like crap. Mike Frantz

WOW....can't believe romper-room.....now Mikkal you lead many down the wrong road and for that you were wrong and punished....I will not trade with you unless the seed can be varified from the grower, but I still want to see you grow Pumpkins...we all were 12-14 at one time and some of us can still act that way at times, myself included.....for those taking verses out of the Bible........just remember...it states the two commandments that God wants us to follow...Love him with all your heart and soul......and love your neighbour as yourself (not much love here )...it also states that the ten commandments are wrapped up in these two new commands from God...also Jesus stated to forgive 7 x 70....its God who can stop..but not us, we are required to forgive or he won't forgive us....anyway Brad Waters understands these values, so if he is keeping an eye on him or guiding Mikkal I am thankful.....Stan Pugh put it well.....God changed his son...well I have an 18 yr old son who Gods trying to change right now and I won,t right him off no matter what he has done.....Mikkal keep your chin up....learn from your errors and move on....you can't blame people for being gun shy....hope with the help of Tom and Brad you can grow a biggy and get back a good name for yourself..................wayne

Mikkal apologized last year and again recently and has asked for forgiveness. He did what he could to make things right last year. I think he deserves a second chance. There is one who posts on this site that won't apologize for the lies he has told to portray me as a hypocrit. See my post under David Garrell's "double bubling, etc" theme.

Wayne...what someone has grown and for how long has no bearing on the issue. Character has been brought to play here, not growing skills or experience.
