The Garden Doctor by Jacob Mittleider. Autumn House Publishing Co. There are three books. Book 1 is about fertilizers and soils. No disappointments!

Ray,
The UConn Storrs book store offers some great real deal text books. The type you'll never find on the shelf at Barnes & Nobel. But all can be ordered from B&N or probably Amazon.com. Check these first.
Soil Fertility & Fertilizers 6th Edition Halvin/Tisdale/Nelson/Beaton ISBN 0136268064 _______________________________
Western Fertilizer Handbook Pearson Education ISBN 0813432103 _______________________________
Soil Science Harpstead/Bennet/Sauer ISBN 0813829429 _______________________________
Any of these are a great start.
