1) I still have a 200lb pumpkin on my front porch... or, 2) There is going to be a $50,000 prize for a 2000lber? Answer carefully, it might be a trick question <:^}>

i don't believe there is a prize for a 2000lbs yet considering there is a $100000.00 prize for a 1500lbs already offered. i would then think that there will be a larger sum for a 2000lbs AG. so i think #1 is true.

neither one is true. being the end of winter, I don't think a pumpkin could last that long on someones porch. Even if you do live in the south

I made it longer than you might think, but not with one that large. I had a 100 pounder on my back porch until Christmas.

I am going to get the Arizona state record. I received my books today and still studying everything else.
I think it might be both but I think 1) for sure.

I would go with #1, the pumpkin may still be on his porch but, what condition? Can't find the ole shovel to scrape it up with. lol

$100,000 Smackers for the 1st Grower to hit 1500 lbs is what I believe I saw advertised in some book somewhere. The Company that posted that huge reward probably pulled that offer years ago!

azkikn, you will have some competition. The former assistant director of the NEPGA is now a resident of Arizona. Good luck to both of you.

Ken D. Well, that makes it a lot harder. But not any less enjoyable. They will have a BIG advantage because they have and can get the seeds. There are a couple of other people here in AZ that are going to have a growing contest against each other. We are all new and plan to enjoy growing 'em big.

The $100,000 prize is reported in "How to Grow World Class Giant Pumpkins II" pg 16. and the WPC is supposed to have offered it.. They paid up on the first 1000 lber so I have to presume if the info Don gave in his book is accurate then they will pay up on the first 1500. Eric

Thanks, this gives people more incentive to grow the AG pumpkin and have a 1500 lber on the front porch.
