The AGGC says they were both weighed on certified scales. Were they brought to a weigh-off? Any pictures out there?

My understanding is that they both are UOW.

Question: Official Weight has not been defined anywhere to my knowlege. Is any registered scale and a certified weight from the printer attached to that scale a weight that would be accepted?
When locations are not available to the players within reasonable distances or to persons who may be handicapped alternatives should be acceptable with proper witness as was the case with Boily's recent self created weigh in.
Almost everyone has a certified scale within reasonable distance from where they live. Junkyard, farm feed and fertilizer distributors, stone quarries and propane distributors to mention a few.

Uow doesnt always imply a fruit split (or something was wrong), just simply wasnt officially weighed. Even tho it might have been a certified scale.

It would be good to see any photos of them in order to appreciate the shape, color, etc.

Here is my take on this.
Bill Bobier had bigger ones to take to the 2002 weighoffs... like his 1047 and 1037.5. I think the 838 and the 714 were grown for genetic purposes only. They are the same cross as the 723 and the 845.
AGGC shows the 723 and the 845 were both UOW as well. So, the UOW is not too alarming.
I think these pumpkins were 'officially' weighed to add $$$ value as both are being sold on PandP for $25 per seed (just my opinion there).

The 723X723 is sold on P&P for $10.00. Yes I broke down and bought one.

I see nothing about these pumpkins being unofficial on the AGGC. The 818 weighed light and the 714 weighed a little heavy. When you know these pumpkins were grown for money it make you wonder what the real weights were. I did break down and buy a 838.
