4 metres rainfall/Year is the rainfall over Mount Olympus summit, Washington. Are you sure you have so much rain in any place in Australia???

Carlos, Perhaps he has several months of intense rain and experiences less in the summer? However, I looked what Sydney receives and that is 46.4 inches per year with July being the driest at 2.1". The warmest months January and February average highs of 79°.

Mapquest told me that Mena Creek, Australia is located near Cairns in NW Australia. It averages 88° in the summer. Year's rain fall is about 60 inches.

Yo Another Queenslander. I reckon you plant in the winter the same time as the northern hemisphere and you will do ok. You arent too far away from where they grow eating pumpkins through our winter no frost and the dry season should do ok. Let me know if you go ahead. Clinton Another Queenslander
