We had rain today. Seemed strange to have a wet yard. Hope it comes more often for another month or 2

Temps have been setting record highs here this winter, my Crocus, Easter Lillys, roses, and Lilacs are all sprouting, and budded out allready! It's been really wet too! I rented a back hoe to dig stumps from the fields and hit water 2 feet down! The last el Nino in 98 was an awesome season for gardening here. The season is drawing near!

We just had a few nights of 32. We hope to get the rain from the south tomorrow. since Sequoia got rain today it looks promising. we re only at 70%. i was out on the tractor today clearing some areas but not in the pumpkin patch. I also dug trenches last week and planted aspargus for the first time.

Right now, the snow is blowing and all the schools are closed. It's going down to -4 tonight. I shoveled before work and will probably shovel when I get home. I'm getting sick of this. COME ON SPRING!

I had a low temp of -35 a couple of days ago. We don't have much snow this year (10-20 cm on the ground) but strong winds yesterday were still able to create some drifts that were so hard you could drive over them with a truck and barely make a dent in them. Had a windchill value of -50 at one point. Fairly typical winter weather for us :-)

With great difficulty, many a snowblower has been purchased in that neck of the woods. A few of the major cities in the area have shut down several times this year.

I'd rather have 6 feet of snow than 12 below and -40 wind chill.....we have maybe, maybe 8 inches of snow on the ground..

The PNW has been pretty mild lately. Right now it is sunny and 55 degrees out. Like Gads said the spring bulbs have already started. If this keeps up the daffodils will be blooming in a couple of weeks.

Cold here too and windy. the brass monkey would of blown over last night except we brought it in so his cahunnas wouldn't freeze. Quit complaining-- last year we had a mild winter and had an explosion of stink bugs and cuke beetles. Think of the cold and snow as cheap insecticide, and it isn't restricted!!!! agman

Alexsdad........before you get to far off base I need to inform you that Phil did indeed see his shadow. As he promptly ducked back into his hole he faithfully predicted six more weeks of winter.
Reliability of this report is high because I belong to the Phil Club and pay $2.00 a year to assure his fun and folly may continue. In addition I would like to report that there was a record attendance in the area to welcome Phil and his annual report to the nation.
