For the past few seasons we have started on May 1st, but they seem to mature earlier on this side of the mountians (larger day/night temp swings) so I am going to try May 10th this year using the peat pot in a cooler methode of germinating.

All depends on the weather and ground conditions. No point starting plants inside if you won't be able to transplant them fairly soon after they emerge. For me this means anywhere from early to mid May.
