Hi, I have a clone going of a proven genetic line (845 Bobier)that I aim to keep going through the winter. I was just wondering what has been the results of cloning in regards to weights of pumpkins produced. I plan to use the clone for genetics but it interests me what pumpkins have been grown. Cheers Clinton

hey clinton,
how are things going? Hope you salvaged something down there.
There hasnt been a 600 lb fruit grown from a clone that I know of yet, but no one has really tried for a big one off a cloned plant. Madman (Marc S) is the guy you need to talk to!
I think a cloned plant can throw something worth while if effort put into it, and a clone might will need more space so it gets an adequate root system because it lacks a "true" stump. casey

Hello Clinton,
Perhaps you & "Boily-Ben" can get together to keep his vine alive. That vine we know is producing a large fruit.
How big was the fruit grown on your cloned vine? The genetic of Ben's vine support such an effort. I hope he's thinking along the same lines as you.
I know it's a generous offering, but if Ben want's to find a home for his vine, I'll sacrifice a third of our patch for the summer. LOL Heck, I'll pay the shipping if the vines properly handled & prepped for shipping! ...Hmmmmmm......
