I just wanted to say thanks for keeping us all updated this winter with your diary & pics from the 2 monsters you got going in your patch. With a bunch of us having one of coldest winters in years I look foward each day to see how your new record pumpkins are doing...........Paul

I agree. Watching Ben shatter (I hope!) the Australian record is like a glimpse into this coming summer. I try to remember the sweet smell of warm moist earthy soil & the crisp aroma of verdant pumpkin leaves as I check Boiley's progress. Now we just need some decent ales in those photos & we'll have it made!

Go easy Ben. There's still a way to go for weigh ins. Have you figured out where you'll be registering the weights yet?

No problem guys! Glad you are enjoying the diary. I'm going to try and do an official weigh in my backyard. Just trying to find someone with a suitable scale at the moment. I will have the local newpaper in attendance, and maybe some TV, plus plenty of witnesses. The newspaper people are coming to look and report tomorrow, so maybe that will get the ball rolling. Figure I've got at least 2 weeks growing left.
I'm now at EST 804 pounds, so unless it weighs 18% light I will have a new record!!!! Thanks.....Ben
