If anyone knows the record length for a pumpkin vine, please let us know.

I think it was on my 440 plant last year. The vine outgrew my acreage, crossed a 2-lane highway, and over to a neighbor's garden where it could steal some more nutrients. Took a busload of state troopers with chainsaws, and 6 Penndot crews to keep the roads clear!

ATTN: CLAIMS DEPT. ERIE BUSINESS INSURANCE

It rolled out of the patch like Jessy biking through Selma!

The volkswagon squash on Sycamore Road is estimated at $7,400.00. This is a touch above book value of the 1957 restoration. We are fortunate it was a parked car.

The cathedral dining hall window squash at Sycamore Manor Nursing home is estimated at $21,500. Tables chairs and two wheel chair squashes are just the begining of inside damage discovery.

The pumpkin continued down the hallway and out the back door. No one opened the door. Emergency firewall code exit door estimate is $3200.00.

Fortunately the pumpkin came to rest in the small stream behind the nursing home. Unfortunately it jumpped into the stream with such force it compressed into a damn pumpkin dam. The water backed up and flooded six basements.
These estimates are in progress.

Yes, we are most fortunate this did not happen, in the daytime, involving additional traffic, on the street as well as the poor old ladies and staff at the nursing home.

For your further knowlege we have made plaster casts of the Bear's footprints. We photographed other pumpkin damage fully proving this should be insured under the dumb animal section of the policy using no personal liability.

This may be the first insured run away pumpkin in growing history. I'm so glad I chose to cover this with Erie's fine lawn and garden coverage.
