2 weeks ago at the local Harvest Fesitival I was talking to the carver. I might be selling pumpkins to him next yr. 800 lbs. pumpkins. What would be a price either per pumpkin or per pound to ask. If I deliver the pumpkin to the carver what do I charge for this. Is there any books I can get ? Thanks in advance for all or help and ideas. Thanks Suzy

Don Langevin's "How To Grow Giant Pumpkins" second addition (must read for growers) has a fair estimate of market value (at the time of publication anyway).
I know that as size increases, so does rarity thus demand & interest. Therefore your price per pound goes up too. Local, State, & regional record setters are worth even more.
I've never sold pumpkins, so I'll stop here. But delivery charges would not be unlike any other large heavy item such as a major kitchen appliance like a stove or refrigerator. Probably a minimum stop charge for the first so many miles, then a simple rate per loaded mile thereafter. Your local situation will dictate the actual numbers, but locally, the minimum is $30-40 for the first 10-15 miles. Though some folks who sell big heavy stuff make fair enough margins that they toss in delivery for free as a closer.
