When I first logged onto BP.com I didn't know anyone and didn't know what I was getting into so I used an alias "skyjack". So for those of you who know me in one form or another I am now posted as myself. What the heck was I afraid of, you are all very nice people.

That's cool Richard. I just found this site. I use an alias too I suppose. I've had it for years. My name is common enough to nearly always be "taken". But my old boats name is usually available. So.....
Either way, I understand how you feel.

Don Quijote

Caceres, Spain

OK people, you got it, I'll tell you the truth.
I choose this alias because Don Quijote de la Mancha, the best novel ever wrought in Spain (Miguel de Cervantes, 1606), was a crazy man who wanted to be a wanderer knight in order to rescate princess from castles, fight against giants and wizards and other nice things in the same way. He liked to ride with his servant, Sancho Panza looking for adventures to gain fame for his name and for his land's name, sleeping the most of the nights under a tree and doing always everything he believed was correct, at least according with his odd gentle ideals. But the harsh reality was he did everything in the wrong side and disasters happened to him continuosly.
That name become in Spain to call a man in pursuit of a chimera, struggling against elements, institutions or the entire inert society, because he follows an altruist ideal wich is by far opposited to usual profit objectives.
Isn't growing giant pumpkins in Spain by now a DQ task? Definitely it is. But I do like it.
Don
