Bigpumpkins.com website is an awesome site. Ken and John......you guys are legends!!!!! Personally without this site I would no almost nothing about growing pumpkins. All the info and seeds and friends I've recieved and made have originated from Bigpumpkins.com!!!!! So thankyou very very much for this website being in existance!!!! Great example story of how bigpumpkins.com is making a difference: Got an email from a Gary Molloy who had stumbled across my grower diary. He also lives in Sydney. He works for a large fertilizer company and recently he started a competition amongst his workmates to see who can grow the biggest cucurbita maxima. Has a trophy made and all. He has supplied seeds and seedlings to 26 people all around Australia and they are currently competing for the "Robert Ravens' Memorial Curcubita Maxima Cup"!!! Last night I drove about an hour to meet with these people who are all newbie's and very keen to grow a big one. I talked and answered questions they had for about 3 hours! It was exciting for me to meet people closeby who are into the same hobby. Hoping that the hobby will gain new growers in my area. I'll be helping these guys out all I can.... Ben

I find it interesting how the internet has made small & seemingly unimportant curiosities into meaningful situations. Now most of my friends still think I'm pretty crazy. I guess in many ways I am. But at keast in this company I seem at least a little "normal". It is a rather noble sport after all isn't it? No monetary gain for advancement. Just the satisfaction of doing something fun as well as we can. My son had me read two childens books about pumpkin growing to his class this past Wednesday. I guaranteed the kids in his next year class that they would get the culls frm our 2003 patch. The look of amazement on their faces is motivation enough.
