In the last week I have seen more bashing of people within our little 'family' than I have ever seen since I've been here. I hear how everybody loves this place yet they attack each other like dogs and put a wrinkle in the fabric of this great site. It is nobody's fault that we're all bored in the offseason but bickering, arguing and voicing opinions that are known to get up the dander isn't much of an off season pasttime. It's time to just knock off all the infighting and start acting like the adults we're supposed to be. Pumpkin growing is a peaceful, relaxing hobby/sport, not a damn verbal battlefield. If you guys love this place as much as I do, maybe we all better start getting along before Ken and John get sick of all the slinging and take it away from us..

There will always be issues, if you have an issue send a private email to the person you have an issue with...We don't need the bickering in the chat room or in posts that newbies are going to read! thought our mission was to help the newbies as much as possible! Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't think I've ever met a nicer group of people. Considering I've never really met any of you, I am always treated as part of the group. Have a Happy Thanksgiving all.

The only thing any of us has to do to avoid the unpleasantness is simply to not rise to the bait. Some people thrive on controversy and will create it wherever they can. They are best ignored. All we have to do is move on to the next message. If we cannot ignore them then we're wrestling with the proverbial pig. We both get dirty and the pig likes it. Happy Thanksgiving. Chris

Chris,
as you know i don't thrive on controvery ... but I try to stand up for what i believe in, what i think it right.
to do otherwise would be cowardly, in my eyes.
i repect others who do the same, even if they have a differing opinion.
some battles are worth fighting even if you get a little dirty. others are not.
The boat we are on is going somewhere, do you know who's at the wheel or where we are headed ?
some want to go one way, anothers a different direction,
to some it doesn't matter, other don't even realize they are on a journy. peoples choices steer the ship in different directions whether they know it or not, whether they care or not.
think about it and let your voice be heard if you choose. But if you choose not to speak then don't complain when you end up some place where you don't want to be.

Time scheduling is important! I was in Texas hunting deer three weeks ago and Pennsylvania hunting bear for the last week. The uglies came and went. By good planning I missed it all. I don't feel a bit deprived. This is an international site of mixed gender. We do not need stupid infighting and bashing of the troops. My patch is ready but caught in the winter that came before the leaves got turned in. Thanks to all of you from whom I have taken advise. If I can manage the grow we should next summer be on the go.

My soil is in better shape than ever before. That sucker better grow!

Let me make a final comment on this subject based on an apparent few that just cannot comprehend what the majority is trying to say here...We don't want the controversy here..we don't want the opinions that go nowhere without the right forum and this, in case those that have not figured it out, is not the right forum..All that is wanted here is knowledge, commeradery and talk about learning how to grow giant pumpkins..nobody here wants the opinions that cause strife, or the points of view that make newcomers think poorly of this site...or the childish antics of pushing threads off the board because they differ with what you think..All the majority here wants is a nice, fun place to visit where we can learn how to grow giant pumpkins..Sounds like a pretty complex task for adults doesn't it..So, for those who just cant seem to decifer though words of reason..stop and think for a minute, if your post can be considered controversial by more than a couple people, take it somewhere else because we don't want it here, we don't need it here and frankly, the members and the owners of this wonderful site are downright sick of the childish games...
If you don't like what I have to say, ask the masses and see who gets the backing..
It's time for the boards of bigpumpkins to grow up and get back to what we do best...grow big'uns..
And that's all I got to say about that...!
