I have been fighting with leaves for 2 weeks or more. Looks like I'll still be fighting them for another week or 2. Please bring truck, rake, and pitch fork if you want any..hehe

I run mine through a leaf shredder before tilling them in. The rototiller does break them up, but with the tiller's tires sinking into my soil, I end up pushing most of the leaves around. No such problems when they're shredded, and they break down faster anyway. I just filled my truck with the 3rd load of bagged leaves from the neighborhood...about 80% maple. My favorite are the ones that are already shredded...BONUS!!

Guess I could let them compost to next fall.
I have already put and tilled in a quiet a bit of 3 year old leave compost my patches.
Would it hurt to have a big leaf pile composting next to a patch?
Thanks...

I would think that the pile would attract loads of worms!! .....and we all know that worms are the farmer's friend!
