I was wondering, does anybody know the difference between PrizeWinner and Big Max? I've heard that Big Max somtimes get close to 100 pounds and that Prizewinner ranges from 50-80. Which gets to be bigger? The reason I was asking is my dad got a 80+ pound PrizeWinner pumpkin from Half Moon Bay which totally dwarfed the size of my homegrown Big Max.

It is likely impossible to draw conclusions based on small vollume growing. Anything can happen from any source. If I had to bet I would say dad had a better patch condition and fertilizer management program. The seed packet indicates the expectations you may enjoy. The key word is may.

in 2001 I grew a 139.8 Big Max
in 2002 I grew a 120 Big Max from my 139.8 and crossed it with the 922.5 Emmon/ I have seeds from it if you want some.

It would be great if i could have some because this year i only grew 10lbs big max from the seeds i got from the nursery. These seeds must have come from a 5lbs pumpkin...lol
