I don't have any "super seeds" so probably 845 nesbit (Good) and some new cross from 2002 that looks good. So if anyone has a cross that looks promising let me know and I will try to prove the seed. I will get the bubble pack ASAPSD ( as soon as pumpkin seed dries).

there are so many choices to make and think next year i'll go back to 2 plants with a 3rd as a back up that'll get less care in a seperate spot for the exact seeds i'll plant not sure at this time

OK, I give up. Where do you people come up with all these big pumpkin seeds ? I mean seeds like 835 780 854 969 942 and all those 1000 pounds plus pumpkin seeds. I`ve been watching the seed give-away page and haven`t seen anything over 590#s. So where are ya`ll hiding them? Booth

booth,
You've also got to be patient.I hope you realize that seeds from an 800# pumpkin won't necessarily grow one that big!(Genetics(and soil prep,) are the key!) A lot of seeds are still drying, seeds with excellent genetics are available here for only postage, just hold onto your horses! This site distributes free seed as a favor to people like you!

Write to some of the big time growers and send them a self addressed and stamped bubble pack. One grower just sent me 8 packs of his seeds, three of which were from pumpkins over 1000 lbs! Just takes time to find some address and a little note goes a long way....Example....I wrote Geneva Emmons last yr sent her a bubble pack and a nice personal note along with a picture of me and my personal best...at that time it was a 139.8 lb Big MAx...LOL....And she sent me a ton of seeds.....everything except the 1262! I have sent out a few packs this yr and so far the results are great. I have learned that like mentioned already its not really the size of the pumpkin the seed came from that matters mostbut MANY other factors. Mike

I know this is repeating what everyone has said so far, but I've found in the short time I've been doing this, pumpkin growers are amoung the most generous people I've met. Usually, a note, a bubble pack, and an offer of some of my seeds (even if they aren't so big) and I get in return usually much more then I've requested. What a great bunch of people!!!

Geneva is one of the most "giving" people in the "pumpkin world"! She is always very humble and kind. I wish we all might emulate her behavior.
