nice buck! you should definitely be proud of that one. what do you think about all of the hype over the c.w.d.issue. what are peoples opinions in your part of the state. i am a deer hunter myself and am stil somewhat undecided on wether or not to go this year. more than likely i will. also, i've got some pictures of my pumpkins that i'm gonna try to post later tonight. nice talking to you again. josh

randy....nice buck indeed!!

Josh, I missed you at the weighoff. It seemed you met everyone else but me...i was running around all day taking pics...i cant stand still at the weighoff, just too exciting.

As for CWD....it has been here for a while, they finally made a fuss about it...they have testing kits....chances are you will shoot a deer thats just fine.

Thanks, guys. We celebrated my 4 yr. old daughters birthday that day. I was running short on time, so I just grabbed my bow and went to a treestand close to the house. At 4 pm, I saw the buck walking through some red pines that I planted 10 years ago. Two does were by me, so I figured the buck would come to check them out. A half hour later, I heard him grunting in the pines and getting closer. I drew the bow just as he was comming out of the pines, and had to hold it back for over a minute. I finally got a 20 yard broadside shot. He only ran 35 yards before he fell, then I sat down and said my "thank you" prayer. Sometimes it just works out. I agree with Casey on the cronic wasting disease isssue, I feel every state has it to some degree, just don't know it yet. When you cut up your deer, don't cut through any bone. If you shoot one that looks sickly, the DNR will give you a replacement tag. Have fun, be safe, and good luck.

Hey that is a nice buck indeed. I have a stand 100yrds below my barn and it is very special when you can take a deer from your own back yard.It also makes it nice when you dont have to travel that far(and the wife knows exactly where to find you!). One question for you,are you feeding those deer pumpkins to get them that big?
