This is my first year planting winter rye. I raked my seeds into the ground five days ago, already have some rye coming up. Many of my seeds are near the surface of the soil or on the surface after raking and watering. Is this ok? Will the seeds on top germinate or is this not a good thing? Thanks, Jim

I raked the rye seeds in on half of my patch and the other half I didnt. The rye looks the same hieght and thickness in both area's to me. I did rototil before I sowed the seeds though so that may have helped the area where I didnt raked them in.
