Happy autumn to all of you AG growers out there. Well, today i will complete my freshman year of growing AG's. I will be harvesting my 673 Kilbert. It has definitly been a lerning experience this year. Ive had to deal with the wettest summer i can remember, tropical storms, hurricanes,Mississippi high heat and humidty, and just beginners mistakes. All of you members have been very helpful with advice and tips for us rookies.I'm sure that my final weights of my two pumpkins are laughable to many of you, but i'm very proud of my first year efforts.I have a 500 sq.ft patch and grew a Toftness 707 and a Kilbert 673 this year.I'm afraid my 707 would be considered a squash if judged due to its light yellow-cream color(it never would "orange-up" on me) it's final est. weight was 97lbs but actual wass 133 lbs.She weighed HEAVY for me!!! My 673 has really nice shape and orange color. Its est.weight is 190lbs.I'll get an actual weight for you today and post pictures soon. Although theses weights are minute compared to you veterans, i am very proud of my achievements this year and i can't wait until next season. I try to look at it this way, at least i beat " Farmer Tom's" 30 pounder from last year.Thank you all once again for everything and Happy Halloween!!!!!

As a third year grower, I can't tell you how impressed I am by hearing about all the first time growers that have hit 600, 700, 800 or higher. It makes me feel that I still might have a chance to grow something that big. Way to go!!!!

Greenhorn Your topped me. I'm working on next year as we speak. It's kinda of a jolk. I planted some unknown funny seeds and then came here to see how to grow them. Boy have I been awakened. Hee Hee. I'm not even counting this year cause I did almost nothing right this year. I got two little ones for the grandchildren to carve. I got to play with something that called itself a pumpkin on the see packet. No growing experience is a waste so we look onto next year.
