Hello Heavyhitter, I've been in the Turf & Ornamental Fertilizer & Chemical business for the past 15 years (longer if we count the consumption side of the counter). All of the "good stuff" is labeled for both ag & ornamental use. But usually under different names. Ag only chemicals are a funny business. I sell every single ag chem in it's turf/ornamental label. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. I'll help if I can. Steve

please tell me you're going to at least going to put a copy of the MSDS in with what you sell. some, if not all, of those chemicals are extremely toxic, and will last in the environment quite a while. i use warrior-t, and you better believe i read up on the stuff first. i'm not sure some of the people are worried enough about what they buy.

This is EXACTLY why we need a license here to apply chemicals like these....Dimestore distributors ! I do believe it is illegal (and irresponsible) to sell these (most) chemicals outside of origional packaging, and especially through the mail. It sounds like a great and helpfull idea Heavyhitter...it really does....but the potential damage and LIABILITY is mind boggleing. Surely you wanna pass this by your broher-in-law---the lawyer......Glenn. )please...dont take it personal...but do look into the liabilities....legal AND environmental)

I don't recall anyone saying the materials wouldn't be in their original package. The law does require that they be. The DOT requires a copy of the MSDS. If anyone receives product any other way, then find a new supplier.
HH, I have to hold a "Restricted Use Pesticide Dealers License" in all the states that I sell in (currently New Jersey, New York, CT, & Mass.) but we have lisenced associates in all 50 states & parts of Europe, Asia, & Australia. On those occasions I need to ship a resticted use pesticide to a state other than one of those listed, I call on one of my associates to place the order for me. The penalties aren't worth messing around with. The customer has to have a valid lisence for the state I'm shipping also. Part of why hobbyists can't find what they're after is because what they need is often restricted use. Therefore they need either a commercial or private applicators lisence. The average garden center usually doesn't have the demand or the staff to carry these materials. So they don't. I know that there are unethical dealers who ship products in a manner that makes the transactions illegal. I will sell to anyone, anywhere. If the transaction is legal. And yes, I'm working on a list of pumpkin specific items too. But because of labeling laws, the list won't be 100%. Even though the same active ingredient is available for many uses, many products are restricted only to certain crops. Thanks to Uncle Sam & the Worker Reentry inerval law.
For the record, pesticides are not quite as dangerous as guns. It's the users who determine safety. My guns & my pesticides are both very safe. I'm the only one who touches them when they're not locked behind steel doors.

Steve, How does one go about getting a restriced use license? As a consumer, I mean (not a supplier).

It depends on which state you live in. CT is the DEP (dept of environmental protection/pesticide div) NT is the DEC (dept of env. conservation). Some state also have an Agriculture Dept. All states have a governing body of some sort.
The private applicators lisence is much easier to obtain than the commercial versions. Also, there is little or no record keeping or reporting required.
I have access to a nationwide database. List your state & I'll post the phone number.
