Thanks to all the pumpkin growers for your thoughts and prayers while I was in the hospital. I’m healing slow and will be back to growing pumpkins again by spring.
I kept the World record (1336.6) pumpkin in New Hampshire. Scott Cully flew out from Ashland Oregon and carved an awesome face on the pumpkin. The pumpkin can be seen at Demeres Garden Center in Manchester NH or on this site till sometime after Halloween.…if it last that long.
Thanks again Charlie Houghton

I caught the pumpkin being carved last night on WNDS last night. Scott did a great job! I'm sure your mailbox will be full of bubble-paks!

Thank you Mr. Houghton. I'm new to this aspect of growing and your pumpkin has served as a good motivator. My son & I will be trying to grow a biggy next year with visions of your accomplishment as our incentive. We just got our first ever AG seeds in one of thos bubble packs just this week. (Thanks PumpkinBrat) I'm glad you're on the mend. Congratulations & best wishes from, Steve in CT

Charlie, you made my first year a special one indeed. Being part of the team that set your new record on the scale was a thrill of a lifetime. The very best of wishes to you from the Clark family on a fast and speedy recovery so that you may rightly sit on your leaven throne as King of the AG Growers.....and congratulations.

Charlie,
So glad to hear your "back in the race!". It seems that, with very few exceptions, all AG growers are like family, and "the salt of the earth!" You'd be hard pressed to find a better bunch of honest, down to earth people. I wish you the best of luck and health in the upcoming year! Sit back and enjoy your Giant Pumpkin "Kingdom!"

Charlie, It's good to hear your feeling better and that you'll be back at it in the spring. This was my first year visiting Topsfield so you defently made it a memorable one! I keep telling everbody that "I saw the WORLD RECORD" at the fair. THANK YOU.
God Bless for a speedy recovery
Can somebody verify that that pumpkin was brought in a White pickup with Green Thumb on the back. I followed them out of the parking lot and took a picture of the pumpkin as we were driving down the highway. I'll post the pic when I can get it scanned in. Chris

Nice to see your health is coming back. Congrats on the pumpkin and the new worlds record. Now go over to Kunh's house and rub it in! You have until next April to give him hell. At that point the game is back on!!

We are newbies. You set the pace sir and we shall try to follow. As one of our leaders by luck and skill you awakened the juices. I haven't had so much fun since the day grandpa's donkey fell in the cesspool.
