I removed seeds from one of my pumpkins today, the pumpkin was only 52 days old when havested. The seed have a very light brown casing. I notice it is not as dark as the seeds i have gotten from other peoples pumpkin. I was wondering how long it takes to dry seeds and if you think these ones will be anygood?

Do they feel "empty"? If not they will probably be ok. You can also open one up & see what the seed inside looks like. It should fill the entire space inside the shell. I wouldn't worry about the color; my 636 last year was grown from dark seeds but the (selfed) pumpkin produced white seeds.

They arn't white they are a very light Brown and very shinny, after just looking about them witha fan on them for a fe hours they are looking really good. I think they will germinate, i plan on useing my seeds for praticing different ways of germination. If anyone wants seeds from my 87 pound 111 pounds and other pumpkin still in the patch just email me.

Some seeds are white, some are tan. Both are good. The "shiney" part will most probably flake off as the seed dries. I think the "green" part of the seedlings arise once daylight hits them. I recommend drying them for at least 3 weeks.
