hEY YA'LL I KNOW YOU WONT BELEIVE THIS BUT.. I PICKED A PRETTY GOOD LOOKING PUMPKIN(MY LASY ONE LEFT) TO GET THE SEEDS OUT OF THE OTHER EVENING, WELL I RETREIVED ABOUT 200 OF THE PRETTIEST LOOKING SEEDS YOU HAVE EVER LAID YO EYES ON. I TOOK THEM ALL IN THE HOUSE, WASHED THEM OFF AND SPREAD THEM OUT ON 2 NEWSPAPERS TO DRY, WELL A HOUR LATER I FIND OUT COMPANY IS COMING SO MY WIFE AND I DECIDE TO PUT THEM ON THE BAKING RACKS IN THE OVEN TO GET THEM OFF THE KITCHEN TABLE.MAN THEY WERE PRETTY, (IF YOU CANT GUESS WHAT HAPPENED NEXT YOU NEED TO GO BACK AND READ SOME OF MY OTHER POST)YEP YOU GUESSED IT!! THE NEXT MORNING MY LOVELY WIFE (THE ONE WHO MOWED DOWN MY VOLUNTEER A.G.'S BY MISTAKE) CAME STROLLING IN THE KITCHEN READY TO MAKE BISCUITS AND PRE HEATS THE OVEN AT 400 DEGREES AND GOES ABOUT WAKING OUR YOUNGUNS FOR SCHOOL.. WHEN THE FIRE ALARM GOES OFF AND SMOKE IS BOILING OUT OF THE OVEN!! YEP SHE CAUGHT THE NEWSPAPER ON FIRE AND TOASTED MY SEEDS REAL GOOD, FROM MY LAST SEED SAVER PUMPKIN.. I'M NOT SURE ANY WILL MAKE IT OR NOT.. ALL I CAN DO IS HOPE..

If it wasn't for "bad luck", you wouldn't have any luck at all!
I do not let my seeds even get near the kitchen!

I can relate, kitchen not the only hazzardus place; left mine on the back porch overnight, got up the next morning to a full tray of nibbled out empty hulls. Daughter in law spotted the culprit a few nights later, a mouse so small he didnt look like he could eat ten seeds, much less an entire pumpkins worth.

LOL..Dont know if I would be more mad because I couldnt plant them or not being able to eat them.
Anyway..I had some bad luck like that once. I stored my seeds in a shed to dry and a squirl packed them all off.
