I know there have been alot of fun and games going on this week in anticipation of this weekend. This is the first time I've been exposed to this so I've kinda been just hanging in the background and taking it in. All I'd like to say is regardless of who you are or what you produced this year, I know that each and every one of us did our best to grow the best pumpkin we could. It really doesn't matter if you grew one 200# or 1500#, as long as you did the best you could with the knowledge you had, you should be proud of your accomplishment. We all worked our guts out to nurture and care for these darlings and no matter what the result, we did our best and had fun doing it. That's whats important. We've met alot of good friends and will meet many more in the coming years and that really what makes this hobby and site so special, good friends, good beer and big pumpkins. So whether your dropping bullets sweating it out until Saturday, or displaying your 100#er on the lawn, or just have the fond memories of how much fun you and your daughter or son had caring for your big ole beast like it was a helpless newborn, always remember, how much fun it was, how much excitement it brought and how much you want the warmth of spring to come so we can all do it again. Congratulations to all and many thanks for the special memories of the 2002 season.

I quickly burried my chippie eaten flesh and began a new year right then and there. More fun than I have had in a garden for years. Good luck to the site members.
