Well I will do the dubious honor of posting the rumor wagon once again this year. Now then, if you have seen or heard of monster lurking in your area, now is the time to put up. Now then, rules are, you may or may not tell the truth if you so choose, and no names, just rumors of huge pumpkins.

I'll get it started, I have heard of a nice fruit in the 1100 pound range jiggling the rictor scale in a little town in Washington. Now then, with three weeks to go, will it have a shot? The 708 LaRue may be a pretty good seed.

Hey, Brett, I thought you said no names! I understand that s..t runs down hill or in this case down state, could the 1100 pounder be somewhat south of the little town in Washington? Hmmm.

well, things are looking big in certain places....an 801 stetls throwing a 1100 lb pumpkin?? hey, theres a chance...... I wouldn't be surprised to see the 801 throw two 1000+ lbers this year (which it has only thrown one so far and has been grown so many times every year). Interesting rumors have swirled of a 1400+ lb monster in the vicinity of the Northeast somewheres(strictly the states, not including canada here)...heck there could be two of them....maybe a third? watch out! we could have a case of official or not....again! That 846 calai seed sure is something special. Ask Andrew Papez.
all i can say is ohio ohio ohio!! i think someone is going to pull an Emmons this year from ohio.....who it will be...i cant determin. Heck, Emmons pulling an Emmons might also be a good bet. Or maybe a there is a wannabe south of the state of Michigan? I can see yonder from the roof top of my house, something sticking up over the landscape, a giant pumpkin?....it looks big! The west has been so quite, I think most of us are deaf from the silence....lets just say watch our for the 1026 holland and 1230 daletas offspring...heck, throw in the 790 daletas as well (that guy has some good seeds!). The new 825 shymanski = 1064 Exh Needham 00. It grows, fast, big, heavy, but just cant hold it together! I cant verify any of this is true. please use these rumors with caution.....dont know what surprises could be ahead of us. oh one more thing, the 990* hebb is the World Record squash in my books....same plant throwing a big pumpkin and a World Record squash is rediculous....1064 mombert, you're a pumpkin! Thats all i have to say...well, wait, one more thing, watch out for those guys from WISCONSIN!! (pumpkin growers that is). Expect a smashing of the state record...if not, a slaughter if you dont mind my saying. (state record is 908.5 lbs)..now, not by me...though i think I have a new personal best on the way. I sure would like to see a new world record come out of Michigan....not from me by a long shot, but I do have a personal best going too. Bob Wells? I got my hands on a 896-Wells last year but didn't do much with it.........Ohio? Kilr....Huff..... oh crap, I mentioned a bunch of names didn't I?? This is fun tho.........

hmmm, how do i do this without going into details... well, i'm fairly certain that there will be a new record for an EXH weight. in addition, i've seen one thats well over waist high on me. neither of them are from my patch, but are within driving distance of me. although, driving distance for pumpkins is a little different than driving distance for ice cream.

Yah, time to get the old rumor mill going in Alberta!! I heard that John Lobay was holding his cards close to his chest when I saw him in Thorhild at the sunflower fest that he won.. He's reported to have another monster bigger than his record 751 pounder. How do I know this? I have a friend who works for CN rail, and they've reported that a special lowbed rail car has been appropriated in the vicinity of Smoky Lake. How else would you transport a giant pumpkin? And then there's old Archie Lingi from Kelowna who had his 903.5 pounder here last year..... Heck, if he doesn't have at least the first 1000#er from Western Canada I'll be very surprised. The Okanagan has such good growing conditions, I've seen apples as big as cantaloupes from there, cantaloupes as big as watermelons, watermelons as big as giant pumpkins, giant pumpkins as big as......

Way down here in south Mississippi, there's a very secretive rumor that's running rampant! In these parts it is being whispered around all of the late night campfires. Legend has it that there is an old man that goes by the name of "old man Dunigan". They say he has a pumpkin patch on his land down on Copperhead road.I haven't been to his patch because him and his 7 sons also have a "still" that they use to make "White Lightening"(that's moonshine to you yankees! :)). Everybody knows better than to go down Copperhead road unless they want to be shot full of holes with there scatter guns! I've heard stories of a couple of his pumpkins being over 1,100 lbs.!!! The next time old man Dunigan and his boys take off in there Big-block 426 hemi dodge on a whiskey run, i just might sneak down the hollow to check out that patch myself. Wish me luck!
