Looks like I will loose another big'un. "Neal" on the 940 Mombert developed a soft spot on the side. The soft stuff was scrapped away and the hole was sprayed with an antibacterial solution last night. After work today, I went to check on it and there was a pinhole through it. Wow, this first year is shaping up to be one I won't soon forget. I'm giving my wife and kids the illusion that I'm taking it like a man, but this is starting to hurt. I know you folks understand. Case and Clancy, I thank you for your help in trying to save it, but it looks bad.

Neal is around 715 lbs est....we tried to save it....looks like it would have went down either way, great color...strong shoulders....it will be weighed in a couple days, or early next week...should be 680-720 hopefully.....good cross too, wont reveal it untill i know there is a good amount of seeds....all i know, i think it will be a great seed for any beginner or newer grower....it will do well in the cooler climates probably too...but thats just a guess....seeds these days are just a crap shoot, need to try them to see what they can do....even the 846's and 723's are not all gems...they have thier problems too. case

Amen there!! My 723 has been a major disappointment for me! What did it produce last year....4 1K fruit? Mine has stalled at less than 600 pounds. Sooooo.....what happened to the Holland 879 ....you know, the one that Geneva did 1K+ last year.....400 pounds for me! This has been one tough year!
