Thanks for the compliment, Josh. So far it's been a very good season for me, good Lord willing, I'll keep it going. I remember 7 months ago not knowing what to expect, but it sure turned out to be a good time. There's no way I'd have had this good of a growing season without Big Pumpkins.Com. Thanks to everyone for all the helpful advice to my questions and especially thank you Casey for all the help and advice. Casey made many trips out to my patch and shared his knowledge, very generous. Josh, as far as the seeds go, I will have many seeds to share with you or anyone else on this site, should be no problemo.

Nekoosa is a small town, if you find Nekoosa, you'll find the Pumpkin Festival. It's held at a park along the bank of the Wisconsin River. Last year was my first year going there. I had no pumpkin to weigh, just went to check it out. That's what got me hooked. They also had an old car show and some other events there. It's a pretty big deal. A guy set the new state record of 908 lbs last year, but I'm betting that record will be broken this year. Don't miss it. Case or Joe, any idea how many pumpkins they might weigh this year? What time do you roll in there with your pumpkins? Do they measure your pumpkins when you bring them to get an idea of what they will weigh? Can you guys sleep the night before? I'm gonna be pumped up.

Last year they weighed 51 or 52 Pumpkins. They hold off weighing the really big ones until the end. You will be able to recognize my pumpkin. It will be the big long one on two pallets. Have not figured out how I am going to get it in and out of the truck yet.

There will be around 45-60 pumpkins,it depends....you can roll into the weighoff anytime between 7 am and 12 noon to weigh your pumpkin. I have not seen anyone measure the pumpkins to get an idea, usually the grower tells people who ask what it estimates at....the pumpkins will be weighed as they come in this year, i dont think they are going to put the big ones off to the side, but who knows! I believe they decided, you arrive, wait in line, whens its your turn, its weighed. I will do my loading up friday night...hopefully i will still have something at that time! I will probably get sleep, clarence might not!! lol....

I think they like to complete the weighing by 12:00, like Case said. I plan on being there between 10:30-11:00, cuz i have a long haul to get there. For some reason, last year they insisted on weighing the second place pumpkin right away, then the others, and finally what was obviously the first place fruit. Half the fun of bringing a big one to the weighoff is the trip down there. All the lookers, stare-hard-retard, gawkers make it worth while. Sleeping is no problem, so long as you got the big one secured and ready to roll. I suggest cutting it off friday night, so theres no need to worry.
