I have found that it often takes more than 60 days for the seed to mature. My last pumpkin to split was at 65 days and still there were many immature seeds.

All 714 seeds from my 537 were mature after 59 days.

Heavyhitter, It depends on where you live, here in Northern Indiana, 50 days will get you mostly mature seeds. If you live south, it takes less, if you live north it takes more. Out where Stan is, fruit grow for 100 days, so 60 days would be like 45 for us. So for your neck of the woods, I would say 50. Tom Beachy

My most recent diary entry shows me doing surgery on a nice pumpkin for the seeds, (my 486 uow). The fruit was grown primarily for the seed cross, so I hoped to get many mature seeds. The pkn split at about day 45 or so, and the seeds were harvested on day 58. I would guess 2/3 of the seeds were flat and immature.
