Nope Flora...you said it for me too. LOL. My sentiments exactly Patience. One of mine grew a whole inch in length. I measured today and from base of stem to blossem end...measures 29 inches! I ran tape right round the pumpkin from end to end.Certainly not huge but coming! I decided half my problem is I am not watering enough. Each plant got about 8 to 10 gallons of water last nite...and a bunch more today. I have potash coming tomorrow. Wonder hwo much I dare give it? Sue

Hi Sue, I started my plants real late because I was away for three weeks in July, I have a couple of pumpkins that were growing but at a slow pace so I skipped a few stepps and have been fertilizing the @$%! out of them. I jumped right to the 0-0-60 and give them plenty of water. When I check on them in the morning it's with my eyes closed and I slowly open them because i'm afraid one of these mornings I might find a explosion!!!!!I hope to come out of this with a couple hundred pounds. (probably not even that big) So Sue give it all you've got....LOL..GOOD LUCK.....Flora

Flora....how much potash are you using? I am like you, scared to death....LOL My potash is in, I just have to pick it up. Rained so hard today, I decided to get it tomorrow. How much water do you give per plant...and how are you mixing the potash? What ratio and how much per plant? I had one weigh 192 pounds last year...and am hoping to get one that big this year. Good luck, Sue

Sue, I don't measure I just kinda guess and throw a bunch down, like Benface says we really don't have much to loose in this late season. I don't measure the water either I just try and keep the patch from getting dry....If it doesn't rain I water until the ground is moist....Sounds like you're enjoying this pumpkin growing as much as I am.
Let me know how you make out....Flora

Hi Ben.... Oh well just explode....piece a cake....I haven't got a thing to worry about then! For awhile there I thought they might split....but you have eased my mind about that! TANKS! (Desert Storm is laughing) I have 8 pumpkins. Seven in one patch and one (The biggest) in another. Should I dissolve the potash first? I sprinkled some 10 10 10 around and it just laid there.

Hi Flora....looks like me and you are here at the same time..... suppose disolving would be a good idea? I am gonna go measure in a bit...haven't seen it for 3 days!!!! I so fer cited....heaven knows how big it is....??
