what in fact is a "dill ring." I have read some diaries containing dill ring, and I was wondering what it is and what it means? any help please. Antonio Bandino

a dill ring is an inner thining of the pumpkins walls in a particular place. They usually go around the entire pumpkin and can be seen from the outside if you know what to look for. Put an imaginary skinny inner tube on the inside of a pumpkin wall that encirlces the whole thing and that's the shape it would tend to be like. They aren't good because they can get too thin and break through the pumpkin wall and your season is over with a hole.
