a few days ago i accidentally put a few scratches in the skin of a 10 day old pumpkins with my finger nails (witch i have cut as short as they will go now) with a circ of about 16" and since then the scratches have gotten wider and deeper. width of about 3/16 and depth of about 1/8 should it has been growing ok it is at 23 in circumference 3 days later. the scratches look healed, but will they get worse in the future and cause a real promblem? should i keep it or not? there is a pumpkin about 5 days old 3 feet after it should i go with this one instead?

I scraped a bigun' on a fencepost about a month ago. Peeled a lot of skin off, and it's still in good shape.

In July some of my pumpkins got scratched by raccoons, they would stand up on them to see if they were anything to eat, I guess. My biggest one got scratched about 3/4 in. deep. I was pretty worried at the time, but it recovered nicely. The raccoons...well...they didn't do so good.
