Subject:  which to keep

i have a pumpkin at an estimated 9 days old with a circ of 17"and i have a pumpkin at 4 days old with a circ of 9" they are within 2 feet of each other and i dont know if i should keep them both for the time being or to cull the larger one. i dont want to hinder the smaller one sinse it looks like it really wants to go. tell me what you think.

ill keep them both the make sure they get pollinated

they are probably already pollinated, if they have even begun to get bigger--if you learn about hand-pollinating you will become tremendously more involved in the growth process...loads o' fun, believe me! usually what happens, when two are on the same vine and close like that, is that the plant decides for you which one it will keep..but yeah, wait 'til
they're big enough to speak for themselves, and then remove
the one that has the worst position on the vine, probably the one on the inside of the curve, if there is one, and i think the furthest one out will have less stress on the vine because it's further out...BUT...PS...the first one
i've pollinated for the year has, 2 years in a row so far,
been the biggest one i've had...there have been no come-from-behind-the-pack-to win-it underdogs--so i would stick to the older and bigger of the two, if possible...your call!

i am jsut posting pics in my dairy if you would like to see i think i am gonna keep the first one because it is growing better at that age even thought the other one is probably getting alot of its juices stolen
