when the first frost comes in oct i say to my self what am i going to do for the next 7 months,i was going to buy some land in mexico and raise pumpkins in the winter but my wife will not let me,i use to work on big tanker ships as a pumpman, thought about telling her that i was going back out to sea,and going to mexico, but once she did not see all the money coming in she would divorce me,thats why i raise so many plants every year by the time i till 2 acre with a rear tine tiller, spread about 40 five gallon buckets of fertalizer by hand, plant about 5,000 seeds,hole-till-spread more fertalizer-spray with schultz fert-spray for bugs-worry about is it going to rain, fight with the kids and wife about all you ever watch is the weather channel, wife wakes up at 2:00 am catches me on the internet i am on the big pumpkin .com site but she thinks i am chating with some young ladys, then in oct i have to worry about selling a few thousnd big pumpkins that i cant even hardly pick up,then nov 1 is here and i say thank god its over with, life goes back to normal for about 6 months.what would life be like with out a pumpkin plant,I love my job.and yes my 10 yr old son won 1 st place for the biggest pumpkin at the local fair, won 12 dollars man is he excited.

Can´t anyone let you have some sqft on top of a tanker ship? Imagine you leave at softball size and come back at 500 lbs...lol..and you always get a crane to lift it nearby. I would suggest to construct a greenhouse big enough for two plants and have that growing fun in the winter season. Might be something your wife will agree with. Congrats to your son and good luck!

why not plant on the tanker...or tow a barge with it, and move up and down in lattitude following the better weather patterns and temperature ranges?......no bugs out at sea...........G
