Well the season looks to be over for me. I made a huge mistake this year and only grew one that weighs approx. 70lbs (a rookie mistake). Now that the pumpkin has run its course, I would like to try to save it for Halloween. Any suggestions on keeping it from rotting.

Pick it and put it in a cool dry place, don't put it on concrete. You may try spraying it with a dilute bleach solution before storing it. 2 1/2 months is a long time but I kept on that long last year. If the pumpkin is mature you've got a chance if it is still immature and just stopped growin the odds of keeping it that long are against you.
