Be sure you have the virus before you act. Have a tissue sample taken and tested. Contact your local AG extension. They should be able to point you in the right direction.

Dave,
If it is what you suspect, their is no known control for it. It also likes to over-winter, so it will probably return next year.Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

David Two years ago I had Moasic virus and I have not had a problem with it since. They way you get moasic virus is from Aphids. They usually blow in with storm fronts. They also usually get the virus from a host plant that is not near your patch. They best thing to do is this fall clean all your tools with hrdrogen peroxide or bleach and go one next year. If you have Squash moasic then you could pass the virus on through the seeds so I would advise you ro either not send seeds out this year or get the plants tested to make sure it is not Squash moasic. I would also remove all the plant materials from your patch this fall including weeds so ;you get rid of all the effected materials so a Bug do not get it in you patch and give it to you again next year. The mosaic virus hit my patch last year. It's bad news I'm sorry to say.
On the upside they are other things that can cause the same effects. Some different types of bug sprays when mixed too strong can cause the same behavior in a plant.

Sorry to here the results. BUT, before you yank that plant especially if it is your only hope for a pumpkin this year - answer these questions for me: 1)Do you have any fruit set on a vine prior(closer to the root ball) to the leaves that show the effects of the mosaic virus? and 2)Do you have any vines on that same plant that are not showing the mosaic virus effects? Let me know, there may still be hope!
