I was wondering, since this is my first attempt at growing a "big" punkin for a fall fair, if I used a black tarp for a shade structure would be benificial? I have a burlap bag streached over it now and is almost not big enough.

I would maintain open sides for ventalation, under the structure.

As of this morning, it measured 103" after 14 days of growth. I'm not sure if that is good or not but it seems to be gaining 6-8" a day.
I hope some one can help me with any sugestions. I'm in zone4, central Ontario.
