Nope, you can only suppress it. The spores are in the air and everywhere.

There is a new product on the market called ERASE. I don't know if it is listed for use with cucurbits, but the active ingrediant is pretty benign and it should be safe. This kills the powedery mildew on the plant. I don't know if it is also peventative. I know rose growers who have used it and were very happy with it. I haven't tried it myself. The old ounce of prevention worth a pound of cure thing.

I removed all the infected leaves and am currently working on a fix for the mildew also.Will let you know how it goes.
