Just wondering approx how many more growing days we have left for an AG? Obviously it varies by region, so how about New England? Is it the first frost date?

The Al Eaton prediction equation gives fruit until Sept 20. He lives in Ontario. Most fruit shut down the last week in Sept. That leaves 38-45 growing days.

It depends on how serious you are about keeping the fruit going. We get a killing frost here the first week in September. Last year will covering the plant with large sheets of plastic and an occasional heater I was able to keep the plant alive and healthy until October 4th when it was time for the weighoff. It didn't grow much that last week(10lbs) but it did put on 90 lbs after the frost(9/9). This year I've got to figure out how to keep two plants going.

I aim for the end of Sept. But during the last two weeks of the month any growth is marginal and the woodstove in the greenhouse is taking a lot of wood. Then I store the pumpkin for a month and give it away to be used as a jack'o lantern on Halloween. All the best, V.
