Only in America! All the pumpkin food you could eat was available for an International Pumpkin food eating contest, at the Wallaces today. About 50 people showed up to watch this crazy sport. Professional Eating contestants from the U.S. and Japan competed for pumpkin food eating victory at the SNGPG Headquarters. The largest TV Station in Japan sponsored the event. The tough part was picking pumpkins before the Fairs, but Ron Wallace and Steve Connolly were well compensated by the Japanese TV station for harvesting 3 decent sized AG's. Check out the pic's. the two american eaters won in a very close contest
ron and i got to know gentleman joe quite well over our beer keg after the contest was over.
we may work a deal for him to try and break his record of eating 5.4 pounds of pumpkin pie in five minutes at our fall frerichs farm weigh off.

the japanese people are very respectable and a pleasure to work with.
im hoping this opportunity will open other doors for a future event between the sngpg growers and japanese tv stations.

this is too cool. i looked through the pics and all i can think is that this is like something out of some other universe. pumpkin pizza, pumpkin lobster, this is too bizarrely awesome. thanks for sharing all this with us!!!!
