Both of my plant leafs off of the main vine look dry and are turning white, yelllow, or brown. The secondary leaves look great. Question is, is this normal during the growing period of a pumpkin, or is this the first place the plant would be telling me my fertilizing program stinks. This evening I had to prune some of them off. They looked horrible. I'm taking some tissue samples to be analyzed tomorrow. Any advise would be appreciated.

Yes, the original leaves will begin to show their age in August and begin disintegrating. I cut them off when over 50% of the leaf is gone.
