My season is a wash thanks to 2-4D. FIRST. I want to know the best place to send soil samples for testing ( one that specializes for AG growing that will give reccomendations on what to add/ammend to the soil) so I can start preparing for next year. NEXT. I have luckily obtained a 866 Mombert 96 seed. My intentions for next year is to grow it along with a 940 Mombert 00. 866(F)X 940(M). Any thoughts on this cross or info for soil testing will be greatly appreciated. Kenny B

Kenny, Sorry to hear about your pumpkins demise. Still hope to see you at Thanksgiving Point. I send my soil tests to Kinseys Ag http://www.kinseyag.com/. I used them last year and was pleased with the results. I've used A&L labs in the past but I like Kinsey's better. Have not heard much about the rest of the Utah growers. Kevin, Bruce ect. Anyone growing a big one.

Heard about that "2-4D" before. Why isn´t it just banned? No way to buy some kind of such poison over here.

Kenny, Brian's right Kinsey Ag is very good. I was very pleased with the progress my pumpkins were making until the hot drought hit & it's still pushing on inspite of it. So I'm using them again this coming year.

So sorry Ken, people need to be more responsible. I hear that Iowa State University has one of the best agri centers in the country. No idea what they charge for soil tests but it's worth a try.

Hi Ken, I think if I were you I would go have a "little" man to man with the dumb a$$ that sprayed your seasons effort.... I just sold my house and patch, but I at least get to harvest the pumpkins for the fair, 5 days later... Oh, not to worry on my end I have a few that are in the County record range, and we just bought a 1909 6.11 MPL farm house. I will gladly give you seeds from my fruit...

Hey Kenny. Sorry to hear about your plant this year. My season ended early last year so I can feel for you. Your neighbor should know you can't use 2-4D with this hot weather we've had here in Utah. Still hope to see you at the weigh-off at Thanksgiving point this year. Andrew Israelsen
