have you actually seen these bugs? the only reason i ask is that when a fruit starts to get larger.....the skin splits ever so slightly as it grows......little drip marks will be visible from these splits

i hav'nt seen bugs biting the fruit, but flying around and landing on it,mosquitos and some other type of small flies..until yesterday the pumpkin was completly unblemished but now it has over a dozen tiny tiny spots where one drop will drip out and then stop..i will go out and examine more closely..i think you are right about the splits as the pumpkin is putting on close to 30 pounds today..first time at this, not much under my belt.thanks farmer scott for the reply.

Lobsta, those little oozing sap droplets appear to be normal. I tuck my baby in each nite with a little remay sweater, and have to peel it off each morning lately. Next you should see the surface splitting and healing in what is referred to as cantalouping...also normal ! Keep up the good work !
